If you're a Boston Red Sox fan, you're going to want to tune into the World Baseball Classic when it kicks off in early March.

There are going to be a handful of Red Sox players involved in it, including young outfielder Roman Anthony. It was reported last week that the slugger was being considered and then selected for a spot on Team USA to replace Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks. On Monday, it was officially confirmed that Anthony has, in fact, gotten the nod.

Anthony is a budding, young superstar and is already trending in the direction of being the face of the Red Sox. That's a lot of responsibility and expectations for a young player, but he has done nothing short of living up to the hype so far. Now, he'll be on the world stage and have the opportunity show everyone what Red Sox fans have already been able to see.

Arguably, this is very important. Anthony got the call to the big leagues in 2025, but his season was cut short due to injury. This tournament will give him a chance to get into meaningful games right away. Hopefully, that carries right over to the regular season.
