One former Boston Red Sox slugger has reportedly found a new home just as Spring Training camps around the league have started to open up.
With Spring Training officially here, deals have popped up all around the league as players have started to settle for short-term deals in order to have a full Spring Training with organizations.
Former Red Sox first baseman Nathaniel Lowe is someone who fits that description. On Friday, MLB.com's Mark Feinsand and Mark Sheldon reported that the slugger has agreed to terms on a non-roster deal with the Cincinnati Reds.
"The Reds are bringing in Nathaniel Lowe on a non-roster deal, sources tell me and [Mark Sheldon]," Feinsand wrote on X.
Lowe appeared in 34 games with the Red Sox in 2025 after spending the bulk of the season with the Washington Nationals. Over that stretch, he provided much-needed pop over at first base. He slashed .280/.370/.420 with two homers, 16 RBIs, and six doubles.
Now, he'll have an opportunity to show what he can do in the Reds' Spring Training camp with a shot at making a run at an Opening Day roster spot.
