The Boston Red Sox will officially kick off Spring Training on Feb. 10.
It's been a long offseason for the organization, but baseball is finally almost back. Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to camp by Feb. 10 and soon enough, the Spring Training games will begin. Then, Opening Day will quickly follow in March.
The Red Sox won 89 games in 2025 and have a chance to do similar damage in 2026. With that being said, here are three players for the fanbase to be excited about heading into the season.
Roman Anthony - Outfielder
This one is pretty obvious. When you have a 21-year-old outfielder who very well could be the top overall offensive player for a team, that's going to bring excitement. Anthony only played in 71 games in 2025, but he has all the makings of a star. With a healthy offseason under his belt, he should be even better in 2026.
Garrett Crochet - Starting Pitcher
Tarik Skubal is widely considered to be the top overall starter in baseball and yet Crochet was right there with him in 2025. The 26-year-old finished second in the American League Cy Young Award race after logging a 2.59 ERA in 32 starts. There are a few pitchers who can compete with Skubal. Crochet is one of them.
Willson Contreras - First Baseman
This one isn't as obvious as the other two. Boston acquired Contreras from the St. Louis Cardinals and although he hasn't gotten a ton of hype, he's a guy who very well could replace Alex Bregman's production in the middle of Boston's lineup.
